BMO Financial Group Hires Chief Digital Officer, Private Banking Arm Appoints CTO

BMO Financial Group has appointed Brett Pitts to the newly-created position of chief digital officer, effective November 30.

In this role, Pitts will lead the bank's digital portfolio and oversee North American digital experiences and channels.

He will join BMO from Wells Fargo, where he spent the past 17 years in a number of senior roles within its digital channels group. He was most recently the executive vice president and group head of digital, responsible for all aspects of the bank's digital channels and experiences.

"Brett is known for his deep industry expertise and for delivering innovative digital banking solutions," said Cameron Fowler, president, North American personal and business banking at BMO Financial Group. "I am excited to have Brett join BMO and look forward to partnering with him to redefine our banking experiences and leverage the transformative power of digital across the bank."

Also, BMO Private Bank has appointed a former Fifth Third Bank executive Amy Griman as chief trust officer of BMO Wealth Management in Chicago, and regional director of trust for BMO Delaware Trust Company.

In these roles, Griman provides oversight for all trust administration, specifically focusing on execution of strategic initiatives, attracting and retaining trust business, managing risk and developing talent.

Griman previously served as regional trust director overseeing Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee for Fifth Third Bank, as shown by her LinkedIn profile. She held the role of investment advisors market executive and wealth planner for several years at that firm.

Previously, Griman worked for 15 years for JP Morgan Private Wealth in Indianapolis, first as vice president and trust officer, then estate settlement director, and finally as market director for the Indianapolis division. She also served as a regional team leader and financial planning specialist for Merrill Lynch, where she led a six-person team for the Midwest region. In 2000, she began her career as an associate attorney for Galbraith & McMains, where she established its estate planning and administration.

BMO Financial Group is a financial services provider based in North America, and has private banking and wealth management segments at the bank.

In early November, this publication reported that BMO Financial Group had appointed Darryl White as its new chief executive.
